Under night sky locked behind bright lights
there's still madness in the maze.
Some have to sleep on hot concrete.
There's no mercy in this game.

Insanity's still around in the morning.
Business comes before giving.
And all the words I hear us say
sound like propaganda for this way of living.

They've got all of the weight on us.
Surviving leaves you voiceless and tired.
And if we don't rise up, the pain can only
end on the day that you've expired.

So many layers of grief
piled in a monstrous heap.

Slow down.
Step back.
Can't you see we're all in pain?
No one's free from pain.

In this darkness, there seems to be so very little I can do,
but I know I have to try.
I know I have to let my love shine through.

The pain's maintained by the ones at the top.
We've got to quit their game to make the hurting stop.
